ACHESON, HENRY [SSNE 8242]
Text source
Sir Henry Acheson served as a captain in the regiment of the Earl of Morton during the Ile de Rhé expedition of 1628. Both he and Captain James Ramsay [SSNE 8102] raised their companies in Ireland. However, the captains were left behind the fleet with their companies, along with some men from Captain Daliell's [SSNE 8241] and Captain Sir John Leslie's [SSNE 8236] companies. Acheson stayed in the regiment and served under Sir George Hay of Kinfauns [SSNE 5056] in the Scots-Dutch Brigade. He served at the siege of 's-Hertogenbosch in 1629 and may have served at La Rochelle in 1627.
