Captain Sir John Leslie served in the Earl of Morton's regiment during the 1628 Ile de Rhé expedition. He remained in the regiment when it transferred to Sir George Hay of Kinfauns [SSNE 5056] for service in the Dutch Republic. He served at the siege of 's-Hertogenbosch in 1629.
