I received a BA in Architecture from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara. I moved on to obtain an MA in Film Studies at the University of Bahcesehir in Turkey. In my MA thesis I studied perception and representation of filmic space in contemporary Turkish Cinema. I am now working on my PhD degree in Film Studies under the supervision of Dr David Martin-Jones at the University of St Andrews. My doctoral thesis is concerned with the representation and perception of female body and intimacy in transnational cinemas. I investigate the representation of the movement of bodies in space and the sense of touch as the main narrative tools. At the same time, I am also exploring the possibilities of schizoanalytic approaches in film studies.
