Richard Woodall and William Dunckel [SSNE 6572] had both engaged in building ships in Norway in 1605 although this went against King Christian IV's royal decree banning foreigners from building and then exporting large vessels. Woodall and Dunckel imported various materials for constructing the ships and they now wanted permission to sell the items or be allowed to re-export it. This is most likely the same as Richard Waddell who, along with James Clerck [SSNE 6578] had constructed two ships, one of 40-lasts and the other of 30, against the aforementioned royal decree. The King wanted them to be bought as cheaply as possible from the Scots and then brought to Copenhagen.
