HYTTHON, JOHN [SSNE 6330]

John Hytthon was of Scottish, English and Swedish heritage. His father was the Englishman, Samuel Hytthon of Berwick - the city where John was born. His mother was the Swede, Helena Swenborn. However, he was also the grandson of the Scot Elin Lindsay [SSNE 6328] who must have married Mr Swenborn. She later married the Englishman Thomas Muschamp [SSNE 3168]. They had two daughters, Margareta [SSNE 6327] and Isabella [SSNE 6329] who inherited their father's land and these were John's aunties. John Hytthon was was summoned to Sweden in 1632 by his widowed grandmother Elin Lindsay. He became a merchant and councillor in Norrkoping. Hytthon married Malin Olufsdotter on 14 September 1645. Their son Samuel Hytthon [SSNE 6331] was born on 21 September 1664 and was ennobled in 1717 with the name of LindsfeldtSvenska Adelns Attartavlor, vol. 1, p.625 and vol. 5, p.34.
