Olof Forbes served as an ensign in the Uppland regiment. He became a lieutenant there in 1657 but was reduced in 1659. However, the following year Forbes became a captain. This man was a grandson of Henry Forbes of Thainstone. His parents were James Forbes of Thainstone [SSNE 779] and Lillieram Chesnecopherus. He had several siblings including Peter [SSNE 6343], Jacob [SSNE 375], Henrik [SSNE 2235], Johan [SSNE 2246] and Nils [SSNE 2250]. He also had at least four sisters
