The Twelfth Annual Meeting of the Centre of Magnetic Resonance will be held in St Andrews on Monday 20 May 2024.

17. 10. 2023 It is a pleasure to welcome Katrin Ackermann, Hassane El Mkami and Paul Webb from St Andrews as new members of the CMR. They will widen the Centre's EPR and NMR portfolio.

on receiving this year's Lord Kelvin medal from the Royal Society of Edinburgh, in recognition of her being "one of the world leaders in the emerging field of NMR crystallography".

With 9 lectures, 17 flash presentations and more than 40 participants, this format proved to be a viable alternative to the "normal" meetings.

A team including Uli Schwarz-Linek has used NMR and X-ray crystallography to understand how bacteria attack cells with "chemical harpoon proteins".

Fanny Tran from the Westwood group published a paper in Green Chemistry on the use of a fast 2D NMR method to analyse lignin, a complex biopolymer. She has also presented this work on a conference on Lignin in Umea (Sweden) in September 2014. Read more

Sharon Ashbrook has been awarded the Makdougall Brisbane Medal from the Royal Society of Edinburgh; we congratulate Sharon for this prestigious prize.

A consortium led by Dr David Norman from Dundee was awarded the Wellcome Trust multi-user equipment grant, which will signifciantly upgrade the centre's EPR facilities.

26. 10. 2010 The opening of the UK 850 MHz Solid-State NMR Facility in Warwick will be on 28th October 2010. Sharon Ashbrook is on the National Management Committee of this new facility.
