University night bus
All staff and students of the University of St Andrews can use the free University night bus. You must show your staff or student ID card to the driver.
The St Andrews night bus goes from the main University Library around St Andrews, returning to the main Library. Locations and pick up times are listed below. The last Library time is drop off only.
Passengers who behave antisocially may be refused entry to the bus and will be referred by the driver to the University’s Security and Response team. You cannot take food or drink on the bus. Please be aware that a bus may have to be cancelled at short notice.

Stagecoach late evening service
Local bus company, Stagecoach, provides a late evening service between Dundee and St Andrews during the week that University students and staff can use for free by showing a University ID card.
The subsidised service runs from Monday to Thursday during term time. Stagecoach's existing late services will continue on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
St Andrews town bus timetable
The St Andrews town bus will run until Friday 23 May 2025, except during vacation week, from Saturday 1 March to Sunday 9 March 2025.
The speed limit in some St Andrews streets has been changed from 30mph to 20mph, which has required changes to the St Andrews town bus timetable to allow for the extra time needed between stops, however, a continuous shuttle will still be provided throughout the evenings. The timetable below has been updated accordingly.
Please note: the number of runs has been reduced from 9 to 8 and the service will start 15 minutes later at 10.15pm. The new timetable starts at 10.15pm on Wednesday 26 February 2025.

Stagecoach late evening timetable
The 99 bus is available free to staff and students from Monday to Thursday during term-time until Thursday 22 May 2025.
Only the services listed on the downloadable timetable under 'USTA' are complimentary for staff and students with University ID cards.
