CEPPA chat series
Are civilians as big a threat as soldiers? Should we be more tolerant of each other's political opinions? How can we encourage people to think about their own small individual acts that contribute to global warming? The Centre for Ethics, Philosophy and Public Affairs (CEPPA) is bringing first-class philosophical thinking on these issues and more to the general public through CEPPA Chats, a series of video interviews in which a prominent philosopher sits down with a member of CEPPA to talk about his or her work.
The videos are available on Twitter @_CEPPA
The first series, released in Spring 2020, includes interviews with:
- Susan Wolf
- Roger Crisp
- Julia Nefsky
- John Haldane
- Thomas Schmidt
- Jeff McMahan
- Hilary Greaves
- Helen Frowe
- Cecile Fabre
Highlights include Roger Crisp's no-nonsense theory that border control should be grounded in human well-being, John Haldane's unconventional view on tolerance in politics and Helen Frowe's revolutionary thoughts of the ethics of war. Other hot-button topics addressed include lab-grown meat substitutes and foreign electoral subversion.
