Postgraduate research courses in Philosophy
The St Andrews and Stirling Graduate programme in Philosophy (SASP) is taught by the philosophy departments at the University of St Andrews and the University of Stirling, which together form Scotland’s premier centre for Philosophy and one of the top Philosophy programmes in the United Kingdom.
- The MPhil degree is a two-year Masters degree. You can either apply directly to the MPhil degree or alternatively apply to the MLitt degree and progress to the MPhil (subject to satisfactory performance on the MLitt).
- The PhD requires three years of research and a full doctoral dissertation of typically 60,000 to 80,000 words.
