Lieutenant Lichton was the lieutenant of Captain James Ramsay's [SSNE 8102] company in the temporary fourth regiment of the Scots-Dutch Brigade. On 16 June 1630, he gave consent to the Council of State to arrest the property of Captain Ramsey for his debts. This annoyed his colonel, Sir George Hay of Kinfauns [SSNE 5056], who wrote a particularly accusatory letter on Lieutenant Lichton's behavior in the company.
