Jacob Heij was a young Scotsman living in Rotterdam by 1648. He was employed by skipper Cornelis Leendertsz Blau on the VOC ship Seelandia as a musketeer, along with another Scotsman, Jems Louff [SSNE 7922]. In his will named his wife, Lijsbet Jacobsdr, and his landlord, Jan Sibbet, his heirs.
