BLACK, WILLIAM [SSNE 7242]
Text source
Wellam Black became a burgess in Stockholm on 20 September 1693. He may be related to, or indeed be the same man as William Black, who freighted goods on Alexander Black's [SSNE 7161] Anstruther-bound ship in 1650. It is uncertain whether he was settled in Gothenburg or whether he had just used Black's ship to obtain goods from GothenburgStadsarkiv Stockholm: Handelskollegium Borgarbok, 1689-1750; C.
