John Grinock was a travelling companion of Andrew Thomson [SSNE 7199], son of Patrick Thomson [SSNE 6475]. On 19 June 1685, Patrick wrote to Andrew Russell [SSNE 143] noting that he had sent for his son and John Grinock to join him in Sweden. They had not arrived by 27 June but were on their way
