William Greg was a diplomatic secretary and agent in Copenhagen in 1704. He took on the main duties of resident in the absence of James VernonL. Bittner and L. Gross, Reportorium der diplomatischen vertreter aller lander, vol. 1, 1648-1715 (Oldenburg and Berlin, 1936), p.184; Letters, dated between January 1702 to June 1704 between James Cressett [SSNE 4423] and William Greg, 'secretary for envoys' exist in Historical Manuscripts Commission 29: Portland I-X (II p.58-64)
