Isaac Mackay snr was a factory owner in Sweden in the 1670s. In 1685 he was already engaged in several mining complexes in Gästrikland and was one of four parties involved in the Lögdö establishment (with Eric Teet), Hammarby bruk (1672-1692), Gammelstilla forge and Skommarhyttan blast furnace in the same years. Although it was not common for owners to live at or near their complexes, their children sometimes did and Isaac's son, Roloff, lived at Lögdö. In 1678 Isaac was owed money by a worker and had to turn to the college of mines (bergscollegium) for assistance. Isaac also had a son of the same name [SSNE 4936]. Their biographical details are hard to separate but it appears that Issac jnr began to operate in his maturity in 1693, the year Isaac snr probably died. references to Anna Mackey [SSNE 6437] might actually relate to his widow, Anna Leufstadia who died in 1704.
