GARDEN, JAKOB [SSNE 4681]
Text source
Little is known so far about James Garden other than that he was a burgess of Gothenburg in 1639. He appears to have conducted trade with he likes of John Maclean [SSNE 1631] and James Mercer [SSNE 4839]. He may in fact be the same man as Jakob Gardner [SSNE 4937]. Two other Gardens worth mentioning are George Garden jnr [SSNE 4924], noted as a merchant in Stockholm in 1639; John Garden of Brechin [SSNE 1171] noted as a burgess in Prussia. No evidence of any relationship to them has so far come to light.
