MOFFAT, THOMAS [SSNE 3018]
Text source
Major Thomas Moffat was granted permission to recruit 60 men out of Scotland for Swedish service on 23 July 1635. These were to join his company stationed in Prussia. These were part of the regiment of Johan Skytte [SSNE 6280]. Major Moffat was presumably related to ensign Thomas Moffat [SSNE 3019] in the same regiment. Moffat went on to serve under Alexander Leslie in the British Civil Wars.
