CUNNINGHAM, ADAM [SSNE 2112]
Text source
Adam Cunningham was born in Germany, the son of Liuetenant-Colonel Adam Cunningham [SSNE 2110]. In 1662 he was granted a birthbrieve from the Privy Council of Scotland noting his noble Scottish origins, which had been vouched for by his noble friends of the House of Cunningham. It appears that Adam junior travelled to Edinburgh to get his birthbrieve as the entry in the Great Seal of Scotland passing his brieve states ADAM CUNINGHAM (who is intending to travel to Germany). His brother Benedictus [SSNE 6628] was also granted a birthbrieve in June 1664.Swedish Krigsarkiv, Muster Roll, 1658/10; 1659/11,12; 1660/14,15; Register of the Privy Council of Scotland, 3rd series, I, 1661-1664, pp.257 and 542, 4 September 1662 and 9 June 1664; Register of the Great Seal of Scotland, vol.
