StAUSCC�s unbeaten T20 campaign continued on a sunny night in Perth with a crushing victory against Perth
Doocot.
Electing to field first, early signs were not promising as two catches went down off Francis in the 2nd
over. However, taking the direct route and bowling the opener proved more effective, and Phil then did the
same to the other opener. With both bowling tightly Perth struggled to 16-2 off 8 overs � some good ground
fielding backing up Phil and Francis, who both finished with 1-8 off their 4 over spells.
There was no let up with the change bowling as Dave bowled tightly before Ben�s first delivery caused the
batsman to call an impossible single, Ben throwing down the stumps with extreme force in his follow through.
Ben then removed the dangerous Le Roux to leave Perth at 25-4 off 13 overs. The introduction of spin into
the attack saw James take a wicket in each of his three overs � the first bowled, second courtesy of a good
catch by Andy at midwicket, and the last stumped. Pat and Josh finished the innings with a wicket each,
either side of some good work from Phil to effect a run-out, leaving StAUSCC chasing 64 for victory.
Josh and Ross set about the chase confidently and largely without alarm, some good singles mixed with
attacking strokes. Slowing down a little as the target came into view, Ross was stumped for 19, leaving Dave
to come in and smote a boundary for victory, Josh finishing unbeaten on 30.
A convincing win � with the standard of ground fielding particularly pleasing.
