(S. Frankland 45, P. Smith 28) (P. Jess 3-23, S. Frankland 2-14)

St Andrews got back into action on Saturday with an away friendly at Largo, managing a good win despite only traveling with 9 players.

After being put in to bat, Phil contributed some lusty blows on his way to a quick 13 before aiming one shot too many and being clean bowled. Dom fell soon after to leave the score at 33-2 in the 10th over and bringing Paul in. After steadying the ship, Stan and Paul began to get on top of the bowling, Stan in particular being ruthless on anything loose as they put on a 61 run partnership to leave St Andrews looking good at 94-2 off 29 overs. However, Stan was then bowled to start a middle-order collapse seeing us lose 6 wickets for 21 runs, Abdul padded up to a straight one, before Dave cut to point trying to up the scoring. Paul's excellent innings was brought to an end for 28, his highest score for the club, before Stefan and Alyn both had their stumps rearranged to leave Pat with another glorious 'not-out' and St Andrews setting a target of 115.

After an excellent tea, Alyn and Dave opened the bowling, making use of the hard pitch by generating good pace and making life difficult for the batsmen. Despite Alyn taking a wicket in the first over, helped by an excellent catch at 2nd slip by a young Largo loanee, Largo managed to survive without further loss until the last ball before drinks in the 20th over, Dave finishing with 0-12 off his 8 overs and Alyn 1-14 off his 6. With Alyn then taking over the wicketkeeping duties from Dominic, Pat ripped through the Largo middle order to put St Andrews back in charge - safe catches by Abdul and the Largoid coming either side of an excellent delivery that was too good for the Largo no. 5, clean bowling him and leaving them 69-5. Dom then bowled the top-scoring no. 3 in a tight 2 over spell, before contributing a run-out as Largo began to panic.

After Abdul had contributed to another run-out following a mix-up between the batsmen, he then gave an excellent display of death bowling, including a third over that went for just one run, Stan finished off proceedings in the last over, Alyn safely pouching the chance behind the wicket to give St Andrews a satisfying win in a close game
