Kinloch 102/8 (A. Dick 3/18) bt St Andrews USCC 82/4 A somewhat delayed start meant that a pleasant evening for bowling turned into a very dark evening for batting, making our run chase more of a stumble in the gloaming. Things started well with Andy getting an LBW decision second ball and bowling Varun in the 5th over with the score on 13. The big hitting left hander Bilal smacked a 6 to intoduce himself to the game but was well caught by Angus in the deep - the first of sequence of good catches from Steve, Andy and Richie. Wickets fell steadily to Dave, Steve and Santos but some late order hitting and a high extras count allowed Kinloch to make it above 100 by the end of their overs. Tight bowling and fading light made it gradually harder to bat. Although Tom and Andy were able to inject some urgency with sharp running between the wickets, the asking rate was always climbing. Andy fell to a remarkable catch at square leg and Tom was swiftly followed out by Gregor, neither of whom saw a lot of the ball out of the trees. With the target somewhat academic, Roy and Richie made a decent fist of the final 5 overs, putting together an enterprising partnership of 30.
