StAUSCC (135 for 9, A. Anderson 29*, S.Akon 2/12) lost to Dollar (236 for 4, C. Smith 105*, J. Farnham 1/18) by 101 runs A day of mixed weather and mixed fortunes lasted a great deal longer than normal since the game lasted a full 80 overs - not something we normally manage against Dollar! A solid start from our bowlers and fielders meant that Dollar were only on 81 off 20 overs but with one wicket down the second half of the innings saw things getting away from us as with wickets in hand young Craig Smith hammered a rapid century. All the bowlers got a pasting to spoil otherwise decent figures, with Alex Anderson's 8-1-37-1 being the best, supported by Phil Pass 8-1-46-1 and Joe Farnham taking a debut wicket. The chase wasn't really ever going to happen although Tom and Dom both played well to reach the high teens before a mini collapse saw the middle order dispatched in a handful of overs. Alex then showed us all the way with the bat, top scoring with a correct and watchful 29 not out in 23 overs, backed up by some stubborn batting from Santos Durairaj, another Largo player who kindly offered to bolster our very depleted side. As the sun finally shone there was some late order clubbing from Patrick and Willie who managed to get us to the end of the game and a respectable 135/9. Still, a good run out for all of us and as ever a game played in a good spirit against friendly opponents.
