Despite driving through to Perth in heavy rain, we actually managed to get a full 20/20 game completed and put in one of our better recent performances to win by 61 runs. Batting first through intermittent rain, all the batsmen showed aggressive intent, running tight singles and pushing the fielders into errors on slippery ground. Pretty much everyone made decent contributions, Nick and Stu building on solid foundations provided by Mike and Sean. Stan, Andy and Eric provided some acceleration and the tail supported Dave to post a total of 153-7. Bowling wasn't easy with a wet ball but eventually most of us found a line and length which steadily eroded the AV line up. Although their batsmen managed a few lusty blows they stumbled chasing our substantial total. The wickets were shared around between Mike, Anil, Eric, Patrick and one on debut from Phil Kerry. Andy pitched in with two excellent catches and the ground fielding was once again solid, showing the benefits of the work put in after nets.
