The Scottish Credit Accumulation and Transfer (SCOTCAT) system allows credits gained in Scotland to be transferred between institutions. The number of credits associated with a module gives an indication of the amount of learning effort required by the learner. European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits are half the value of SCOTCAT credits.

Module description

Material Bibliography 2 is a semester-long training course intended for students enrolled on the Book History M.Litt, and it is also an optional training course for students on the Early Modern and Reformation History MLitt programme. It covers the use of the Book as historical evidence, and practical aspects of cataloguing and Special Collections work. The hands-on and closely supervised seminars in this second part of the course cover themes and skills such as Book Illustrations, Provenance Analysis, Special Collections Cataloguing and Material Bibliography in an Age of Digitisation.
