The Scottish Credit Accumulation and Transfer (SCOTCAT) system allows credits gained in Scotland to be transferred between institutions. The number of credits associated with a module gives an indication of the amount of learning effort required by the learner. European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits are half the value of SCOTCAT credits.

Module description

This module provides students with a strong interdisciplinary understanding of key issues in energy and climate change policy. In the first part of the module, the students will explore the history of energy and climate change policies, and the contemporary policy landscape. They will gain insights into the role of stakeholders and the public in policy making, and be introduced to the idea of policies as social documents. The second part will equip the students with the essential analytical skills needed to evaluate the effectiveness of policies. The students will also develop a range of practical skills which enables them to become active contributors to energy policy making.
