The Scottish Credit Accumulation and Transfer (SCOTCAT) system allows credits gained in Scotland to be transferred between institutions. Module description

The module includes lectures on the structure, stereochemistry and nomenclature of simple organic compounds, fundamental organic reaction mechanisms, organic functional groups and their reactions, introductory bioorganic chemistry, and organic spectroscopy.

BEFORE TAKING THIS MODULE YOU MUST HAVE PASSED HIGHER OR A-LEVEL CHEMISTRY AT GRADE B, OR IB HL CHEMISTRY AT GRADE 5, OR OTHER EQUIVALENT QUALIFICATION.

2-hour Written Examination = 60%, 1-hour Practical Examination = 10%, Coursework = 30%
