Module description

Facilitating an effective humanitarian response in an emergency situation requires a clear understanding of the situation at hand. Efficient implementation of assessment and effective analysis of humanitarian data is critical to ensuring that the humanitarian response is coordinated, timely, and addresses the needs of the society and landscape impacted. This module will explore how a humanitarian response is coordinated in practice, and how effective assessment and analysis of humanitarian data underlies most if not all decision-making in a coordinated humanitarian response. More broadly, this module will examine how joint assessment and analysis of humanitarian action facilitates five core functions that underpin humanitarian affairs: coordination, advocacy, policy, humanitarian financing, and information management.
