SCOTCAT credits

The Scottish Credit Accumulation and Transfer (SCOTCAT) system allows credits gained in Scotland to be transferred between institutions. The number of credits associated with a module gives an indication of the amount of learning effort required by the learner. European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits are half the value of SCOTCAT credits.

Module description

This is a core language module for students of Russian in the first year of the Honours programme. It builds on the work covered in RU3301, or RU3102. The module will include translation from and into Russian, grammar and composition, and weekly oral classes with a native speaker. By the end of the module students are expected to be competent in speaking at a higher intermediate to advanced level on a variety of topics including contemporary issues and Russian culture.
