SCOTCAT credits

The Scottish Credit Accumulation and Transfer (SCOTCAT) system allows credits gained in Scotland to be transferred between institutions. The number of credits associated with a module gives an indication of the amount of learning effort required by the learner. European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits are half the value of SCOTCAT credits.

Module description

This module will enable postgraduate students to tackle at a conceptually advanced level a selection of the most important issues in the history of North America, from its foundations as European colonies onwards. The module will expose students to several key debates in American historiography by focusing on a series of issues that have especially preoccupied scholars in the field.
