Module description

This modules covers a turbulent and important period in English history. The module is broadly chronological but also invites comparisons between the four kings who reigned between 1154 and 1272. Three of these kings faced challenges to their rule. The module will thus discuss the nature and performance of kingship. We will discuss rule over disparate lands; religion; law; rebellion; Magna Carta.
