SCOTCAT credits

The Scottish Credit Accumulation and Transfer (SCOTCAT) system allows credits gained in Scotland to be transferred between institutions. The number of credits associated with a module gives an indication of the amount of learning effort required by the learner. European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits are half the value of SCOTCAT credits.

Module description

This module will focus on contemporary global issues in health professions education relevant to students’ own academic and/or health or social care contexts. Students will explore the drivers of debate and change within health professions education. Students will have the opportunity to apply theoretical models for understanding complex and wicked problems in health professions education. This module will be fully online with a mix of synchronous and asynchronous learning. Live synchronous teaching will be scheduled in GMT. Participants must have access to a device with internet connection, webcam, and a microphone.

Weekly contact

The module will comprise approximately 2 hours synchronous teaching delivered fortnightly where attendance will be required. Participation is also required for any scheduled group work.
