Module description
This module aims to consolidate the student's command of the language, and in literature brings the student to further genres and authors, in prose and verse. Students will learn about the authors set and broader themes within the module, and their progress in study of the language and interpretation of the literature will be assisted and monitored. The module is suitable for students who have taken LT5002 or with equivalent experience.

Intended learning outcomes
- Identify key genres of classical Latin prose and verse and their representatives
- Describe key features of these works, including their language, contents, narrative technique and literary style
- Demonstrate greater expertise and skills in translating, analysing and interpreting these texts against their historical and cultural context
- Apply these skills more confidently to other, seen and unseen, Latin texts
- Devise coherent and critically aware arguments on key aspects of Latin prose and verse on the basis of a thorough analysis of the primary text
