Module description
The Human Biology module is taught across four weekly lectures and will follow three key topics: (i) communication, (ii) protection and survival and (iii) intake and excretion. The module takes a systems approach, similar to the School of Medicine. Students will study all the key physiological systems within the topic areas, with an overarching focus on how disease affects these systems. The course aims to build upon existing knowledge of human physiology and link this to the causes and consequences of the major diseases affecting the body. This includes introducing new anatomical language and exploring the interdependence between different organ systems. This module is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills base to succeed in the School of Medicine.
