The Scottish Credit Accumulation and Transfer (SCOTCAT) system allows credits gained in Scotland to be transferred between institutions. The number of credits associated with a module gives an indication of the amount of learning effort required by the learner. European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits are half the value of SCOTCAT credits.

Module description

This module builds upon and develops the skills and knowledge gained in IE1101. This module will further develop the oral communication and reasoning skills required to gain entry to study medicine. Students will develop reflective skills and be introduced to key topics and themes in Medicine.The module will focus on academic reading and writing skills required in scientific subjects dealing with a variety of relevant genres. Assessment methods for this module include coursework, practicals and written examination.
