Module description
The module will complete the introduction to the essential grammar, morphology, and vocabulary of the Koine Greek of the New Testament. It builds on the knowledge acquired in DI1005 and progresses to cover all the building blocks of New Testament Greek grammar. With this competency, together with more practice encountering Greek syntax and a larger range of vocabulary, the student will be able to progress to intermediate studies of the language with the ability to read and analyse the entire New Testament, as well as other literature of the period. The module therefore provides the student with the most important tool needed for exegesis of the New Testament, as well as a base from which to approach contemporary academic texts that seek to interpret this same literature.
