During your time at the University, there will be plenty of opportunities to gain work experience and boost your CV. The UK Graduate Careers Survey ranks the University of St Andrews top five in the UK for the number of final year students who have completed internships, vacation work or course placements (62%). You can also apply for a committee position in one of our over 150 affiliated societies. This can help you develop skills in leadership, organisation and public relations.
Attend careers fairs at St Andrew, where you will find some of the UK's most prestigious graduate employers. Many of our top employers hold presentations, skill sessions and other events at the University for students.
You can also apply for a University-based internship. The Laidlaw scholarship programme offers summer placements within your academic School. Similarly, the Summer Internship Scheme offers work experience with professional service units (such as Admissions, the Library or Corporate Communications).
