Postgraduate scholarships

Postgraduate study is an investment in your intellectual development and career potential. The University of St Andrews provides scholarships to help as many students as possible continue in higher education.

Scholarship availability may depend on your area of study or fee status (for example, whether you are a 'Home' or 'Overseas' student).

GI Bill - US Department of Veterans Affairs

The University of St Andrews is approved to process Veterans Affairs benefits.

Students must also have their intended programme of study approved. Students can check with the Department of Veterans Affairs or with the University of St Andrews whether their programme has already been approved. The University can seek approval for new programmes, but this can only be done once the student has received an offer.

Students should inform the University at the beginning of each academic year that funding is required, providing their VA file and Social Security numbers. The University will send the relevant form to the Department of Veterans Affairs which will trigger the release of payments.

As a foreign school, there is a maximum amount that the VA will provide in funding; however, the University is not made aware of the exact amount that will be paid until confirmation of payment is received.

In order to check personal eligibility for funding through the GI Bill, please see the Department of Veteran Affairs for more information.
