Collaborative programmes
The University of St Andrews has developed and strengthened partnerships with other universities in Scotland and Europe to offer joint programmes and research ventures. These collaborative programmes offer students the chance to benefit from the expertise and resources of two leading institutions and to enjoy a unique postgraduate experience.
We are currently running or recruiting students for a number of joint programmes with a number of institutions across Scotland.
International Master in Audiovisual and Cinema Studies
The MLitt in International Master in Audiovisual Studies (IMACS) is a two-year taught postgraduate programme where students spend two semesters at St Andrews and the remaining two semesters at one of the following partner institutions:

University of Bonn
The University of St Andrews and the University of Bonn offer an MLitt in German and Comparative Literature, a two-year joint degree, through the School of Modern Languages.
University of Dundee
The University of St Andrews collaborates with the University of Dundee on the following programmes:
- Social Dimensions of Health Institute (SDHI), an interdisciplinary health-related institute.
- Joint Centre for Scottish Housing Research (JCSHR), a joint initiative between the School of Geography and Sustainable Development at St Andrews and the School of Town and Regional Planning at Dundee.
Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
The University of St Andrews validates research degrees offered by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. On successful completion of their programmes of study, research students at the Academy receive an award from the University.
The Academy's subject expertise is distinctive and complementary to that of the University, its research ethos being based firmly on the centrality of performance in all of its activities. Research students are based at the Academy, but are also matriculated students of the University and have access to the resources of both institutions.
University of Stirling
The Department of Philosophy offers a graduate programme in Philosophy.
