The University of St Andrews is offering £1,000 fee reduction scholarships for entrants only with a fee status of Home or RUK studying an on-campus MSc (International Education or TESOL course) starting in January 2025. The scholarships will be awarded to students with six months of relevant work experience.
To be eligible to apply you must hold an offer to study on an MSc TESOL programme (January start) or the MSc International Education programme (January start) at the University of St Andrews by the time the scholarship submission deadline date.
The International Education Institute reserves the right not to make an award if no appropriate submissions are made. A decision on the award will be made by committee.
No cash alternative is offered, and the award is not transferrable to any other programme of study. If a student does not enrol on an MSc TESOL or International Education programme then the award will be withdrawn.

This award is paid for the duration of the programme.
At what stage of my course application can I apply for this scholarship?
Please apply for the award after you have submitted your application for a place at St Andrews. You do not need to wait until you have received an offer of a place before applying for the award. However, you must hold an offer to study on an MSc TESOL or International Education programme at the University of St Andrews by the time of the scholarship submission deadline date.

Decisions about your suitability for the scholarship will be based on the work experience you list in your CV, which you should upload as part of the course application.
Please note that the Recent Graduate Discount does not apply to students who have previously studied on an International Education Institute (IE) postgraduate preparation programme; therefore, you cannot receive both awards. For full terms and conditions, please read Recent Graduate Discount (PDF).
How to apply
After you have applied to a new course beginning in January 2025, you will be provided with login details for the My application portal. You must allow at least two working days for processing and issue of your log in details before you can apply for this scholarship.
This scholarship is available through the MSc International Education and MSc TESOL Scholarship (January 2025 Entry - Home Students/On Campus) application form. You can access this application through the Scholarships and funding catalogue in the Scholarships and Funding section of My application. When accessing the catalogue you should select 2024/5 as the academic year.

- The offer of a scholarship is provisional upon the offer holder accepting and enrolling on an MSc TESOL or MSc International Education programme by the enrolment deadline.
- Applications will only be considered if the applicant holds an offer for an MSc TESOL or MSc International Education programme at University of St Andrews.
- The selection panel will consist of a group of key staff from the International Education Institute at the University of St Andrews. All decisions of the panel are final.
