Curve is an account that links to all your existing Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards allowing you to track all your spend, carry only 1 card and receive the benefit of 0% fees when spending abroad. New users receive 30 days of 1% cashback when they sign up, and this can be extended by 30 days for each additional person they refer.

Restrictions/ useful info

Card can be delivered to 30 EEA countries including UK so if outside these countries you will need to wait until you arrive in UK.

If your linked card is not in one of the following currencies, your card will be charged in GBP at the prevailing interchange rate.:

GBP, EUR, USD, CNY, JPY, HKD, NZD, SEK, ZAR, NOK, BRL, CAD, ILS, CHF, SGD, INR, RUB, AUD, BGN, CZK, DKK, HRK, HUF, ISK, PLN, RON.

 

Monzo

To open an account, you require an in date passport or driving licence (or any other official government ID) from any country which must have an expiration date listed on it.

You also need to submit a selfie video to match against the photo on your ID.

Monzo card must be sent to a UK address so ensure you know your UK address before you apply.

 

Restrictions/ useful info

This is not a student account so is available to anyone and does not require a student to have an enrolment letter.

There is a limit of £1000 cash deposit per 6 months, but no limit on electronic transfers in.

£300 a day ATM withdrawal limit and £10,000 a day limit for bank transfers. (These can be temporarily increased for 24 hours if required)

Monzo do not have branches so this account is operated from a mobile app but does have 24/7 in app support, allows you to set up Standing Orders and Direct debits, pay bills and transfer money and comes with a Mastercard bank card which can be used online and in shops.
