  The application process for GRCs will be two-stage:

  Expressions of Interest are due by 12 Noon, 21^st August 2024. 

  Full applications, by invitation, are due by 13th November 2024.

  It is anticipated that the nominated GRCs will have a planned start date of January 2025.  All EOIs must be approved by the applicant’s Head of School.

• Innovation Vouchers for Prototyping at Eden Campus

  Scottish Funding Council Innovation Fund managed by St Andrews Innovation

  The Scottish Funding Council, in collaboration with the University of St Andrews, has made 30 Innovation Vouchers available, worth up to £750 each. These vouchers are designed to support and amplify ground-breaking ideas from our research community. 

  Open to both staff and students, this fund aims to foster innovation by covering the costs of prototype development. The Rapid Prototyping Centre (RPC) at Eden Campus can help with design services, 3D printing, PCB work, or other prototyping. 

  Approved projects receive a quote from the RPC, with a 10% discount on all labour and machine costs. Materials are charged at cost, and additional funding can be added if required. Apply now using the online form. Applications will close on 31 December 2024 and will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

• External funding, and pre and post award management

  Support when applying for external funding and in managing awards

  The Finance Department offers a support service to academics in all aspects of research awards and contracts from pre-application (idea, finding funding and costing stage) to award (contract negotiation, project account setup, invoicing and financial reporting).  

  The Finance Department provides costing and pricing advice for applications, tenders and University consultancy, and administers the research grants and contracts once awarded.
