Our environment

• Baby-change and breastfeeding facilities

  Baby-change facilities are available on the lower floor of the Psychology Building (opposite the Baby and Child Lab).  This space also includes a breast-feeding area and electric sockets. A second baby-change facility is available at the end of the corridor past Seminar room 1.00.

  A small fridge is available on request for members of staff or postgraduate students that need to store breast milk or related items.

• Common rooms

  The School of Psychology and Neuroscience has two common rooms.

  The first is located in the Psychology building on the first floor next to the Old Library 2.00.  All staff and postgraduate students are welcome to use the facilities which include a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, water dispenser and seating area. Coffee is available each weekday at 10.30am.

  A small common room and a kitchen are also located on E floor of the Carnegie Wing of the Bute building.  Coffee is available each week day at 4pm.

• Gender-neutral toilets

  Each floor of the Psychology Building has at least one gender-neutral toilet, and the Carnegie Wing of the Bute building has gender-neutral toilets on the ground floor. All other sets of toilets in the School buildings that are labelled as single-gender are accessible for anyone self-identifying as that gender.

• Disabled-access

  The University has a Physical Disabilities and Access Guide and recognises that not all disabilities are visible.

  The front door of the main Psychology Building has steps; a portable ramp is available upon request to the School office.

  Disabled-access toilets can be found at the following locations

  • Psychology Level 0 near the Westburn Lane entrance and Workshop 0.10
  • Psychology Level 1 next to the lift and opposite room 1.61.
  • Psychology Level 1 left of the foyer, along the corridor and past Seminar room 1.00.
  • Carnegie Level A opposite A20
