Programme Level Outline 

The Director of Research Development Programme provides opportunities for collaborative learning, bearing in mind all the skills and experience that you bring to your work. There is always much to be gained by sharing expertise, as well as taking the time to consider and reflect on the important aspects of your roles as leaders of research in the university, in a structured framework.? 

The programme consists of three core modules that explore Leadership & Resources, Research Culture & Quality, and Impact, Collaboration & Interdisciplinarity. An additional module offers the opportunity to reflect on your learning and share ideas with your colleagues across the institution. 

By the end of this programme, participants will be able to: 

  • Understand the remit and importance of the Director of Research role at the University of St Andrews
  • Develop the processes that deliver high quality research within and between schools
