NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

Course information

The National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is NEBOSH's most sought-after qualification, and is suitable for managers, technicians and anyone with substantial health and safety responsibilities. It is a globally respected qualification that will give you theoretical knowledge and practical skills, suitable for any workplace.

Aims and objectives

The course will focus on:

  1. Effective management of health and safety

  2. Identifying and controlling common workplace hazards

  3. How to measure if you've been successful

  4. The UK's key legal requirements

Assessment is via an online open-book examination on 5 February 2025 AND a practical risk assessment.

NOTE: This course requires a genuine commitment to attendance over the 10 total days of tutorial time, and to self-study.

Monday 6 January to Friday 10 January 2025 - Cathedral Room, Walter Bower House

Monday 17 February to Friday 21 February 2025 - Conference Room, School of Mathematics and Statistics

The course will be held in-person at the above venues. Lunch and refreshments will be provided each day.
