Course information
Have you been asked to convene/coordinate a module in your School? Could you use some pointers?
This workshop aims to provide an introduction to the role of module coordinator and what the role entails. There will be an opportunity to hear about case studies from the Arts and Science faculties, and also to explore the various issues surrounding the role - including hints and tips on how to deal with various scenarios that may occur.
All staff who are currently module coordinators, or who envisage becoming one in the near future, are welcome.
What participants have said about a previous version of this course:
- It was very nice to see how both the Arts and Sciences do things differently. This allowed me to interpret things in different ways and perhaps try to make things more efficient.
- Both presenters gave very wise advice of several points that one should bear in mind, before and if taking on convening a module. In addition, Bruce Sinclair's case study gave an example of very innovative and interesting approaches to teaching skills.
- This module is a very insightful view of convening a module, with much good advice before one takes on this responsibility.
