Delivered by NHS Fife Speech and Language Therapy Service, this informative and practical workshop aims to increase professional users’ awareness and understanding of effective and efficient voice production to maintain healthy voice and reduce the risk of development of dysphonia (vocal impairment).

Aims and objectives

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Have an understanding of the anatomy and physiology of effective and efficient voice production
  • Know the risk factors for developing vocal impairment
  • Be aware of signs of developing voice problems and when to seek help (when normal becomes abnormal)
  • Know how to reduce risk through application of vocal hygiene strategies and vocal warm-up techniques
