Course information

This workshop provides an essential introduction to student feedback on assessed work at the University of St Andrews.  The workshop will provide information on university feedback policies and procedures and provide participants with an opportunity to examine key principles for giving effective feedback.  The workshop will also discuss how students can be encouraged to engage with and take on-board feedback that improves their academic performance.  This workshop links closely with the ‘Designing and marking student assessments at the University of St Andrews’ workshop and colleagues are encouraged to attend both in close proximity where possible.

What participants have said about a previous version of this course:

  • Both presenters gave very pertinent personal insight into the goals that one should take into account when giving feedback, and the objectives that it ought to achieve.
  • Very good presentations and interesting discussions. Nicely balanced. Responsive to the audience mood.
