Manager's induction
The manager's induction sets the expectations that the university has of all people managers regardless of how many direct reports they have, what their title is or what school or unit they are in. This will include roles and responsibilities, and obligations.
Important note: This induction complements the staff induction essentials. Managers who are new to the University should complete both programs.
Aim
To support managers in settling into their roles by providing a single point of reference for all necessary information.
Outcomes
-
Effective integration into the University.
-
Reduced time lost searching for information.
-
Tacit information made explicit.
-
Explicit expectations of managers.
The induction includes a blend of face-to-face workshops, available both online and in person, a self-enrolled eLearning module hosted on Moodle, attendance at least one manager’s community lunch, and a manager’s buddy system for peer support.
Existing managers are also encouraged to complete the induction to refresh their knowledge and stay updated with the latest practices.
Join us in this journey to enhance your managerial skills and contribute effectively to our University community!
