Music Centre scholarships
Our scholarships provide students with free, weekly, one-to-one tuition with our outstanding team of vocal and instrumental tutors.
Amongst our scholarship offering are the Montfort scholarships, open to undergraduates from across the world. Montfort scholars enjoy:
- weekly, hour-long, one-to-one lessons throughout your degree
- masterclasses and side-by-side opportunities with world-class performers
- £1500 to assist with professional musical development

Vocal scholarships
Vocal scholarships provide free tuition and performance opportunities in classical, musical theatre and pop and the opportunity to join a vocal ensemble.
St Salvator’s Chapel Choir is the University’s flagship choir offering choral and organ scholars regular performance opportunities, masterclasses and international tours.
St Leonard’s Chapel Choir sings at a weekly service of Compline and other public engagements.
The Renaissance Singers perform at concerts all year round.

Instrumental scholarships
Instrumental scholarships provide free, weekly lessons, ensemble coaching, regular performance opportunities and the chance to perform in masterclasses.
Organ scholarships offer extensive accompaniment and solo performance opportunities, weekly one-to-one lessons, international study trips and masterclasses.
Piano scholarships provide free, weekly lessons, rehearsal, performance and production accompaniment opportunities, recitals and masterclasses.
Instrumental scholars usually join 50 of the best instrumental students at the University in the St Andrews Chamber Orchestra, and can also join our jazz or brass ensemble, our saxophone or string quartets, or our wind quintet.
